Favourites of the Month | January

We have officially made it. The longest month of the whole entire year is officially over… nearly. Well done us.

It’s been a long time since I wrote a ‘Favourites of the Month’, but recently I have been trying loads of new bits and bobs (thank you Christmas!) that I have been loving, and so I thought I would share them with you all. It’s going to be a long one so grab yourself a cuppa and a biscuit, and let’s get started.

FASHION

This month I have been making a conscious effort to make my fashion consumption more sustainable. After doing a lot of research into the fast fashion industry, I have been trying to buy less new clothes and instead buy second-hand off friends or dabble in a bit of thrift shopping.

However, I have got a few new pieces to share with you that I was bought for Christmas or purchased new knowing that I would get a lot of wear of out.

First up, it’s my vegan-friendly Dr. Martens. Yes, they’re still agony as I have yet to fully bed them in, but damn my feet look good. I got them in Vegan 1460 Chrome in a dark oxblood red and I truly am obsessed. They’re a little different to the original iconic Dr. Marten’s that have a more understated, smooth shine. These, on the other hand, have the most gorgeous reflective chrome finish that reflects slightly different colours in different lights. They’re eye-catching, they’re practical AND they’re cruelty-free. Bravo Dr. Marten’s, bravo.

And once you bed them in they do become super comfortable… I promise!

At the time of writing this, this pair is on sale, so if you fancy yourself a pair then now is a perfect time.

Sticking in fashion, I have another  January favourite to share with you, from Gymshark. No surprises there…

It is, of course, the black camo seamless leggings and sports bra, which quickly became my absolute favourite set Gymshark have ever designed. They’re on the pricier side of Gymshar activewear, but they are so worth it. The leggings are the most flattering I have ever worn, and the little scrunch detailing on the back gives the illusion of a bigger, perkier booty. The bra is also really flattering, not to mention it gives great support while still sporting a feminine design. I really think Gymshark have pulled it out of the bag with this one (if I do say so myself) and, if possible, I would seriously recommend getting your hands on it.

JAN

MAKE-UP

Next up, it is time for my favourite makeup product on the month, of which there are two. I tried to pick just one, I really did, but they are both so good I thought that they should both get a mention.

First up is the Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter Luminous Gold. I have always been a little sceptical about liquid highlighters and I don’t think you get the same control or natural finish. However, this one is an absolute DREAM! Not only is it super affordable, but it has the most stunning finish that lasts literally all day. You hardly need any (one or two drops at the most) and it gives you the most reflective, dewy glow! I have also been experimenting with this under my foundation to give my skin a healthy-looking glow that it really misses in these colder months. If you’re on the hunt for a liquid highlight, you seriously cannot go wrong with this one. They come in loads of different colours and are available on BeautyBay. I get complimented every time I wear it! Hats off Makeup Revolution.

HIGHLIGHT

My second make-up favourite has to be Benefit’s Gimme Brow Volumising Gel. I have been using the same eyebrow kit for the past 6 years (not exactly the same one… I have repurchased, don’t worry) but it just wasn’t quite making the cut anymore. It was good for the drawn-on eyebrow days, but now I prefer a more natural finish. The Gimme Brow is my new ride-or-die. It is so easy to use, you literally just put it on like mascara and it gives you lashes and full finish, while still looking super natural due to the tiny little micro-fibres in the formula. I was also pleasantly surprised at the staying power – it lasts out even my sweatiest gym sessions. Here’s to the next 6 years Gimme Brow.

SKIN CARE

Confession: I am shit when it comes to skincare.

I wish I was one of these girls with a fancy routine they followed religiously but, truth be told, I am lazy. However, this year, I have made it my resolution to take better care of my skin and I have been sticking to it pretty well. I actually have 3 favourites in this section, but all part of the same skincare family so it’s okay… right?

First up in the family is the Elemis Nourishing Omega-rich cleansing oil. I’ll admit, I have had this a while and have been avoiding using it because a make-up wipe and some water seemed like a lot less agg. While my skincare routine might have taken a grand total of 30 seconds, it wasn’t really doing much, and I started to struggle with breakouts. I started using this and absolutely love it. It smells delicious and leaves my skin feeling so soft and nourished. Not only that, but since using it, I feel like my skin has become a lot more glow-y and a lot less like I have died. Always a bonus…

The other two products are the Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner, which is a lazy girl’s dream! Literally, just spray and go – ideal. Last up, it’s their collagen marine cream (basically a fancy name for a moisturiser from what I can tell). It’s super thick and feels really indulgent, but doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy at all, rather it makes my skin feel plump and delicious. I tend to get really dry skin in the colder months, so a good moisturiser is essential.

This set was brought for me as a gift, so I don’t know the exact price, but I am going to take a stab in the dark and say that it will not be cheap! However, I am really liking it and don’t mind investing if it is going to work and look after my skin.

Long may my new-found skincare routine last.

EXERCISE

As you will know if you follow me on any of my social media platforms, I am taking part in Gymshark 66. They say it takes 66 days to make a habit, and so I am putting it to the test and challenging myself to eat better, run faster, lift heavier, and (most importantly) be happier. This means my exercise this month has been intense! I threw myself straight back into the deep-end with it after struggling for 2 months with glandular fever and, truth be told, I have loved every last second of it! The aches and the pains have been KILLER, but I have never felt fitter or more confident.

RELFECTIONS 1

My favourite exercise of the month has to be bench press! I always hated bench press, but since I started incorporating it into my routine on a regular basic, I started to notice some great improvements. It’s a fantastic, compound exercise that I would seriously recommend. If the barbell is a bit too heavy for you at the moment, try lying dumbbell press to help build up your strength before moving onto the barbell!

ENTERTAINMENT

I wish I could say that this month my entertainment favourite was going to a book, but Netflix have really pulled it out of the bag this January (and also, I have only been reading history books, which the majority of you are not going to care about..*.). I watched ‘Birdbox’ at the start of the month and, don’t hate me, but I really did not get the hype. 5/10 at the very best! ‘You’, however, I have really enjoyed. Super trippy, witty and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I would definitely recommend giving this a watch if you haven’t already.

*If you are I would recommend ‘In Defence of History’ by Richard Evans. It’s not without its flaws, but it is a really interesting reflection on postmodernism and that impact it has on history. NERD!

So, there you have it! I know this has been the longest Favourites of the Month EVER, but there is a lot that I have been loving throughout January. What have you been loving? Loved yourself a bit of Birdbox? Avoid benchpress like the plague? Let me know in the comments down below?

Hair And Graces | Five Favourite Hair Products.

Hey guys and gals! So it’s time for another Five Favourites. Rather than going for  specific brand today I thought I would share with you some of my favourite hair products. I’ll admit, I have kind of cheated a teeny tiny bit (I did warn you this would happen) and there are more than five products here but if it’s a shampoo and conditioner duo that’s fine, right? Good.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy and find it useful. So, let’s get started…

Lee Stafford Hair Growth Treatment

I mentioned this product earlier this week but I’m not even sorry –  I adore this product. It is the first hair growth treatment I have ever used that actually works and I literally used it ALL the time when I was trying to grow out my fringe and bob. I still use it once every few weeks just to keep my hair growing nicely. The formula works by fertilising the follicles, which helps your locks reach their maximum potential length.

It also makes my hair super silky and smell like a SNACK, which always helps.

Aussie Hair Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner

Aussie is one of my absolute favourite hair brands. They do some fantastic products from shampoos and conditioners to hair masks and oils. It was a tough one to narrow them all down but the Aussie Hair Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner are my absolute ride or die shampoo and conditioner. They smell amazing and make my super duper dry hair feel nourished and super soft. They’re a little pricey but I really do think they’re worth it.

Elvive Nutri-Gloss Shine Shampoo and Conditioner

A slightly cheaper alternative to Aussie shampoo and conditioner are the Elvive Nutri-Gloss Shine Shampoo and Conditioner and they are still really good. I have really noticed that since growing my hair long it gets lifeless and dull really quickly, but these are great for giving a bit of life to your long hair. My hair always feels super soft and looks really shiny after I have used this. It doesn’t last for ages (ie. it gets dull quicker that when I have used Aussie) but it is more affordable and still pretty good stuff.

LUSH American Cream Conditioner

Next up is another product I have mentioned on the blog before. The LUSH American Cream Conditioner is one of my favourite conditioners EVER. It smells like a thick, delicious strawberry milkshake you get from an American diner, which is so beautiful and indulgent. Not only does it smell like heaven, it also makes my hair look super sleek and glossy.

I always get compliments after using this and it leaves me smelling like strawberries and cream for the rest of the day – it’s incredible. Go and buy it.

Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Shampoo

Last but certainly not least is a silver haired gals best friend. I have naturally blonde hair but tend to have highlights every few months that can go really brassy when it’s time for them to be redone. This shampoo is the best out there for brightening and reviving my hair and helping to keep any yellow brassiness at bay. As a shampoo it is not the MOST nourishing but it is still pretty good and doesn’t need another shampoo used alongside it (maybe just a conditioner afterwards).

Word of warning though, leave it on too long and you’re gonna have yourself some lovely lilac locks so be careful. Unless that’s the look you’re going for then by all means leave this bad boy on!

So there you go, my top five favourite hair products. I actually found this a lot harder than I expected as there is so much good stuff out there for looking after your locks. A go to of mine is the humble coconut oil (I tend to just put this on the tips overnight if my hair is feeling super dry) but in terms of products specifically designed for hair, these are the ones that made the chop. What are some of your favourite hair products? Let me know in the comments down below.

Favourites Of The Month | July.

Hey guys, how are we all?

It’s time for my favourites of the month again. I’m loving writing these posts and sharing what I’ve been loving – it is a great chance to reflect on the month (and also to judge myself in hindsight for how much money I have spent on new beauty bits and bobs – not quite as fun!). I have been super excited for this one as I always find I get a lot more experimental with my beauty, skincare and fitness regime during the summer months – must be the warm weather inspiring me! This month has been no exception and a lot of categories have actually got an overall winner and a runner up in them.

I have a lot to share this month so I’ll get straight into it.

Fashion

My fashion favourites are usually something that I have been wearing a lot, however, this month is a little different for two reasons. First, July saw me chilling by the side of the pool in my scruffs a hell of a lot (I am definitely not one to be seen in heels and jewellery by the side of the pool) and as much as ‘oversized, ugly t shirt’ is a staple part of my wardrobe, it doesn’t exactly scream fashion. Second, I have been eyeing these trends for a long time but I have also just moved into my first ever house and so funds are a little short to say the least! I did still want to share them with you guys because I think they’re really cool!

Ever since I saw Dani Dyer rocking that denim jacket/skirt coord I have been seriously lusting after one! It also just so happens that after Dani Dyer rocked that denim jacket/skirt coord that they popped up literally everywhere – what are the chances, ey? I have been searching the internet and one of my favourites is this Red Contrast Stitch cropped denim jacket and denim skirt. I am a huge fan of wearing red and this coord from MissGuided is such a beauty! For both it would come in at £57, which is okay…I guess.

Image from missguided.co.uk

If you don’t fancy red, head over to PrettyLittleThing and check out their gorgeous pink one! This one comes in at £50 so with the £7 you save you could buy yourself… well, not a lot but still. They also have one in white, leopard print, pale pink check (very ‘Clueless’) and a questionable blue one. Each to their own I guess…

Make Up

Although I tend to wear less make up during the summer months, I have actually been experimenting with a lot of products throughout July. This months winner is a little bit of a surprise to me. I’ve actually had it for a long time but I have always avoided it due to the fact I cannot stand the packaging! However, I decided to give it a go and the product itself is stunning. The Benefit Sugarbomb Blush has been my go to blusher this month and even featured in my graduation day make up look. It’s a stunning mix of four shimmering shades of peach, bronze/plum, pink and rose together and so acts as a bronzer (and even highlighter) and well as a blush. It’s described as giving an ‘instant sugary flush’ and it really does do just that. It is packed with subtle, beautiful shimmers and the shade range is super versatile.

Look at that peachy glow!

I’ve used this product almost every single day this month, whether I am wanting a soft glow to compliment a ‘no make up’ make up day or whether I am heading on a night out. If you’re loving peachy summer glowsI would seriously recommend picking this up. You know,if you can get past the packaging…

Although Benefit have stolen the show for me this month, Laritzy Cosmetics came in a close second and so has bagged itself a spot as my runner up. I received their NUE nude eyeshadow collection in lasts months The Pip Box and I knew straight away I was going to love it. For starters the palette is vegan, which is great! It is also full of super pretty, neutral shades that are so wearable. As I mentioned over on my Instagram, it is not the most highly pigmented palette (one of the reasons it did not bag first place) but it is easy to build up and it leaves next to no fallout, which is great. The neutral browns and coppers are great for everyday where and you can actually get quite a lot of different looks.

Apart from the pigmentation, another reason this palette did not bag first place is the price. I did not pay retail price for this product but if you did it would come in at £35.99, which I think is a little pricey. The colours are nice and I have worn it a lot over the month but I still find myself reaching for last month’s favourite, the MUA eyeshadow palette in Burning Embers. This palette has 25 gorgeous shades and are so much more versatile and affordable (it’s only £8). Neither come with a mirror, which I don’t mind when it’s £8, but I would have liked to have seen a mirror and slightly more sophisticated packaging on the Laritzy palette. This is not to say this palette isn’t good (it did make it to runner up for heavens sake!) but these are just some of the reasons it was pipped to the post.

Still my go to eye shadow palette!

Exercise

Whilst at University I spent a lot of time in exercise classes but now I have come back I’ve had to wave goodbye to Les Mills (at least for now anyway) and go back to my home gym. This has meant a serious change to my exercise regime, which has worked wonders in shocking my body and helping me to start seeing results again. Throughout July I did a lot of HIIT and functional training at home (climbing in and out of wholes, lifting logs and all that jazz) and resistance training at the gym. Whilst I have been really enjoying both of them and every single session has been different and pushed my body in new and challenging ways, the winner for July is functional training.

If you’ve not heard of functional training before and are wondering why in gods name I am jumping in and out of holes, don’t worry! Functional training is basically adapting training to mimic everyday actions. Basically moving fitness outside of the gym. You’re still building strength, power and mobility but in a way that is more suited to ‘real world’ fitness requirements. There’s a lot of bending, sitting, reaching, balancing and unilateral training! It’s challenging but really good fun and has helped me see some serious results over the past month or so.

For more information on functional training and how you can incorporate it into your work out, check out this post. It’s full of top tips, advice and videos to help make your training more functional.

Music

Leaving University has meant many things. My working weeks now consist of a lot more than 9 hours, I can’t afford to recklessly go for 5 coffees a day to avoid the library and I’m no longer on the radio every week. The latter has seriously impacted my knowledge of new music. As you might remember from a few months back, my music taste is very much that of a 50 year old man. I have, however, been loving a very recent album that I think you should all be listening to!

Image from Wikipedia

High as Hope is the newest album from Florence and The Machine (you know, dog days are over and all of that!) and it is truly beautiful – I swear it actually gave me goosebumps! I always loved her music and find her voice so haunting and soothing. The album has some wonderful songs on it – you might have already heard Hunger, one of my favourites on the album. If you enjoy indie rock and older songs from Florence then I’m sure you will love this album.

Skin Care

My July favourite when it comes to skincare is an oldie but a goldie. I have very fair, sensitive skin and I don’t really tan. I kind of tend to go a nice shade of salmon covered in little spots instead – get in line boys. The Dove Summer Revived, however, is my go to gradual tan and moisturiser as it gives me a nice, healthy glow and means you can look at my legs without having to protect your eyes from the glaring white.

It’s super easy to apply and, even with my lazy application style (splurt on, rub it in a bit and hope for the best), has never left me looking streaky unlike other false tans. It’s super affordable, super moisturising and super natural! I was using this for the whole of July and every evening when I was away on my holiday to keep my skin healthy and smooth. I like to think I will continue to use this throughout the year to keep up the glow all year round but, who knows, I’m pretty lazy…

So there you have it, some of my July favourites. What do you think? Were you loving last months The Pip Box? The warmer weather got you loving going out for walks rather than hitting up the gym? Can’t get past the Benefit blusher packaging to purchase sugarbomb?

Let me know and, as always, I also want to know what you guys have been loving this month.

Favourites Of The Month – June.

Hey guys! It’s that time of the month again. No, not *that* time of the month… time for my monthly favourites. I don’t mean to terrify you all but it is more than half way throughout 2018. Madness, I know. So far this year I have completed my degree, qualified as a personal trainer, done and secured some internships and finally started putting 2018 and not 2017 on forms. Success.

Anyway, as promised now that I have graduated I have got a lot more time on my hands (some might say too much time on my hands) and so you will now be seeing monthly favourites a lot more – I’ll even go as far as saying every month but don’t hold me to it! So, without waffling any longer, let’s get into some of my favourites of June…

Fashion

Love them or hate them (although you should love them because they are so cool) the baker boy hat is back and I finally got my hands on one!

media

Look how cute it is! Okay, so it might not be up your street but I am obsessed with this cord, vintage rose baker boy. I’m not usually a hat person but anything that allows me to channel my inner Kiera Knightly in Love Actually gets a huge yes from me. I got this one from Topshop and it was £15, which I think is a little pricey. I did, however, find a very similar one in Primark for £5 so if you like it then learn from my mistakes, head there first and save yourself some cash. I am not sure how it compares quality wise because I was too hurt that I had unnecessarily spent an extra £10 to make detailed comparisons but it definitely looked very VERY similar. Cry cry.

Despite me not being the savviest of shoppers with this one I really do love the hat. It goes with everything and makes me feel like a 90’s chick – definitely a fashion favourite.

Make Up

This month’s favourites are actually from the same brand as last month (well done MUA!) As mentioned in last months favourites, this is a cruelty free and super affordable brand exclusively from superdrug. I went shopping in Birmingham this month and headed to Selfridges with the intention of picking up the nice new nude lipstick from MAC. They didn’t have the colour I wanted (Jubilee) so I decided to pop into superdrug and see if the high street could serve me any better. I ended up looking at the MUA collection and was SHOOK by their £1 (!!) lipsticks. I was a little apprehensive and was not expecting much from lipsticks that cost £1 but I swatched some of the colours and loved them so I thought it was worth a shot. They did not disappoint! I picked up 3 different colours: Bare (a very light, creamy nude), Nectar (a vibrant coral) and Tulip (a pale barbie pink). They have a satin finish, which is my favourite for a lipstick and feel great on the lips.

All three of the colours have pretty decent staying powder comparable with the MAC lustre lipstick collection. My favourite is Nectar. It is this gorgeous, juicy orange/coral – perfect for summer and it lasts for a really long time on the lips. My only slight criticism would be that they don’t smell great. It is not a bad smell and it is definitely not strong but when you first put them on you there is a faint play dough sort of smell. For £1, however, you really cannot go wrong. I would seriously recommend picking some of these up. They have a pretty good colour selection and they are perfect for everyday wear. Plus, it doesn’t matter too much if you lose it on a night out so no more morning after fear – everyone is a winner.

Skin Care

No prizes for guessing but this month my skin care favourite is hands down LUSH Mask of Magnaminty. I cannot fault this face mask at all! It smells delicious (like minty ice cream), it’s self preserving (if you get the self preserving one of course), vegan and makes my skin look and feel incredible. It cost me £12.50 for a 315g tub and I can already tell I am going to get a lot of uses out of it! I’ve been using this mask twice a week. It recommends you leave it on for 15 minutes but I have been going a little longer (more like 25-30 minutes) and, in just a few uses, my skin is already looking so much fresher. It has been a miracle worker on my spot prone areas and generally my skin is looking a lot brighter and far more even.

I have tried a lot of face masks in my time and never really found one that stood out. I have tended to find them a little but gimmicky. This on the other hand is incredible and I cannot recommend it enough. Without a doubt the best face mask I have ever tried!

Exercise

Last month Meta-fit stole the show but this month I have fallen in love with another Les Mills class – Body pump. Body pump is an hour long and is based on 11 tracks (one of which being a banger from The Killers) . It’s all about strength and sculpting but, just as with any Les Mills class, it gets your heart rate up and seriously makes you sweat. The newest track (105) is a fab full body workout. It’s tough going (I’m looking at you lunge track) but it can be easily adapted to suit any ability. My aim with these classes was to maintain my current level of strength whilst improving my cardiovascular fitness and body composition. Since doing this class I have seen huge improvements in my muscle definition and have actually increased my strength despite doing heavy weights fewer times a week. I would really recommend giving this a go if you are looking for a serious challenge. It burns like crazy but it does do what it says on the tin and you really will feel pumped afterwards.

bodypuo

Do not put this much weight on, my lord this person must be crazy. Image from lesmills.com. Go and check out the workouts, they’re really great.

Entertainment (TV Show)

This was really, really hard this month. Despite having a lot of free time I haven’t really watched many new TV shows. Last month it was a toss up between FRIENDS and Stranger Things and because I started Stranger Things towards the end of the month I had to give it to FRIENDS. Anyway, I was pretty certain Stranger Things would take it in June but then Safe through a spanner in the works. Both and very good and both are very different. I have decided, however, to go with Safe. This is not because Stranger Things does not deserve a spot but I was very late to join the Stranger Things band wagon and so I am going to assume most of you have already seen it. Safe though is pretty new. It’s a Netflix original, 7 episodes and they’re each about 45-50 minutes (perfect for binge watching). It’s a bit of a murder mystery sort of thing but MY GOD it is good. Loads of twists and turns, face paced and everyone is a little bit dodgy, which only makes it more interesting. I am usually the best at predicting the ending but it kept me on my toes right until the end. It was fantastic and I would highly recommend it.

So there you have it, some of my June favourites. What do you think? Getting over excited at the number of lipsticks you can get without blowing the bank? Got a different favourite face mask I need to try out? Let me know your thoughts and what you guys have been loving this month and stayed tuned to see if MUA can make it on the favourites for the 3rd month in a row.

Favourites Of The Month | May.

Hey guys! I thought today I would share with you guys some of my favourites of the month. I know, I know… it is not technically the end of May but just go with it, it’s exam season! I don’t do these often (mainly because I am a poor student whose monthly favourites usually consist of  baked beans and binge watching trash TV) but when I do they have been quite popular so who knows, now I have graduated you might be seeing a few more monthly favourites posts.

So, without further a due, these are some of my favourites of May…

Fashion

As always, Zara has been delivering the goods this month! I made some purchases at the start of the month that I have already become my go to fashion staples and I recently put in another order. Picking a single favourite Zara item is like being forced to pick a favourite child – I love them all equally but let’s just say if I could only send one off to University it would be this mini dress with gathered details. I was really torn as to whether or not I should get this dress. I thought it might be a little bold but recently I seem to have stopped worrying and just been wearing clothes that I love. I adore this dress. It is perfect for both in the office and going out for a nice meal and some cocktails. The colours are absolutely amazing and so summery. If this is a bit too bold for you but you like the style, they also have a plain black dress so go and take a look. For £17.99 you really can’t go wrong!

Make Up

I have been seriously working on a budget when it comes to make up this month and so I have hardly got any new products, however, I have been using a lot of MUA. This is an affordable make up brand that is exclusive to Superdrug. It is a cruelty free brand but is unfortunately not vegan, however, I got gifted with some of these products and so they were already part of my collection. I have been trying out a few of their products that I am pretty impressed by but I wanted to talk about one product in particular that I have been loving for months! The MUA eyeshadow palette in Burning Embers. The palette has 25 gorgeous shades and it’s only £8, which is super cheap. The colours are so pigmented and blend beautifully. You can create so many different looks with this palette and, although I have my favourites, there isn’t a colour in this set that I don’t use, which is really rare even in high end palettes. If you like you’re pinks, neutrals and oranges I would seriously recommend giving this a go.

Skin Care

It will probably come as no surprise to most of you that my favourite skincare this month has been the 12FRÉ collection from FRÉ skincare. I have been raving about these products on all of my social media platforms and a month on I am still loving this brand. These are cruelty free and are a little on the expensive side but they are so good and I would always prefer to spend more on my skincare than my makeup – just to be sure I am using the best stuff for my skin. The whole collection comes in at $115, which I know is steep but I really do think it is worth the investment. If you want more information you can check out my full review here.

fre

Music

So I’ll be honest, if you listen to any of my radio shows you will know that I am not particularly ‘down with the kids’ when it comes to music. However, this month I have really got into one song that has been on the A list at our student radio station and that is Ferrari by Bebe Rexha. Usually I am more of an 80’s sort of girl but I have really been enjoying this. If you haven’t heard it (or if you have and just really want to give it a listen) you can find it here.

Exercise

What with exams and everything else going on this month, exercise has been an absolute god send. I’ll be honest, sometimes I have really had to drag myself out of the house to get it done but I always feel so much better afterwards. I am probably weight training about 3 times a week at the moment and really enjoying it but it has not made it onto the May favourites. This month fitness classes have been my saving grace and really motivated me to push myself and try new things. My absolute favourite is MetaFit. It’s 30 minutes of super high intensity workouts and we usually follow our sessions with a core workout. Each session is different and it is great to meet new people (something that can be really tough over exam season.) If you are looking for a fat burning challenge I would seriously recommend giving this a go.

Last favourite for this month but I don’t feel like I can reflect on my May favourites without giving a quick shout out to Netflix for putting on all of the FRIENDS series. Yes, it’s old. Yes, it’s kind of been ripped to pieces lately. And yes, Ross is the worst! But I honestly love this programme. I have probably watched the whole thing about 5 times at least in my life time and I laugh every single time. 20 minutes an episode, nothing too serious (apart from the whole ‘we were on a break stuff’, which definitely does not justify your actions Ross!) – what better procrastination TV show?

So there you have it, some of my May favourites. What do you think? Love a bit of Ferrari? Cannot get past the outdated views of Ross Geller to enjoy a single episode of FRIENDS ever again? Let me know. I also want to know what you guys have been loving this month. Who knows, they might even make an appearance in my June favourites.
